Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC has launched a new official team watch to celebrate its long-standing partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team. Following the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team Edition (Ref. IW388108), which was first presented in 2022, the watch is made of lightweight, human-friendly and extremely durable grade 5 titanium.

The entire matte sandblasted grade 5 titanium case has a diameter of 40 mm, a thickness of 10.68 mm, and supports practical 100 m water resistance together with a screw-in crown (screw-down crown). The case size is the same as the existing Mark XX (Mark 20) ​​made of steel, but it is slightly thinner. Like the previous chronograph versions (Ref. IW388108, IW388114), the matte black dial continues the tradition of classic pilot’s watches, and the indexes and hands color including Super-LumiNova are applied in a mint green (aka Petronas Green) close to turquoise that symbolizes the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ team, catching the eye. The strap can also be easily changed without tools using the unique EasX-CHANGE® system, and the Petronas Green colored rubber strap matches the dial color.
The movement is the automatic calibre 32111, which guarantees a power reserve of around five days (120 hours). Similar to the Pellaton automatic winding system, which is the symbol of IWC manufacture calibres, the bidirectional pawl winding system, the escape wheel and lever made of silicon that is unaffected by magnetic fields, the newly developed lubricant, and the design of the soft iron inner case ensure high anti-magnetic performance. The center of the grade 5 titanium case back is engraved with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ team name along with the team’s symbolic hexagonal pattern, making it immediately clear to anyone who sees this model that it commemorates the special relationship with replica IWC, the official engineering partner.
